Parks in Virginia are gorgeous, green, and expansive. Northern Virginia is home to some of the best, including Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling, a hotspot for families and golf lovers with its 18-hole course and waterpark, and Fountainhead in Fairfax Station, which boasts incredible hiking, kayaking, and cycling. Old Town Alexandria is George Washington's hometown, and is also home to the wildly popular Torpedo Factory Art Center. The Federal Government is another top employer in Nova, especially the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Department of Defense (DD).  



Excellence in education is the standard in Northern Virginia. Schools in Nova represent some of the best in the state, and there are a plethora of public elementary, middle, and high schools to choose from. The area is home to the Thomas Jefferson School for Science and Technology, which has consistently ranked as one of the best magnet schools in the country.
